Join me in changing a child's life - become a child sponsor!

Welcome! If you know me you know I like to be direct, so here's the bottom line: There are people all around you who need your help, but it can be hard to make the time to research, develop trust for, give to and support a charity. World Vision has it all worked out for you. If you choose to sponsor a kid at around 30 tax deductable dollars a month, the automatic giving option means no more messing around with payments once it's set up.

Skip the drive-through a few times a month and that $30 will practically pogo right into your bank account. KIDDING- you should consider this carefully and budget intelligently, but in our position of privelege the ~$30 really isn't such a huge sacrifice.

Children and communities are given hope. I started sponsoring a kid back when I lived in Baltimore, so it's been a few years now. I can tell you there's something about getting an envelope from Africa with pictures drawn for me (my girl's partial to purple stars and orange triangles that kind of look like molecules strung together) or a school progress report from my sponsored kid's teachers. The stamps and groovy handwriting alone are quite a kick.

Imagine - you could be the difference between a life of hope and a life of despair.

Here's the thing that sold me when I first researched this program: World Vision doesn't squander a dime. Last year, 87% of their total revenue went to programs benefiting children, families, and communities in need. As you know, that's an incredible achievement for a service organization operating in close to a hundred countries. That includes domestic programs- just take a look around their website to see where they are. Check out their service reviews at any charity ratings site- they are not a creepy high-pressure operation and their employees are truly helpful.

You can do this! It's a simple way for you to engage your world. The outcome is well worth it.

My goal is to spread the joy I've received through child sponsorship by finding sponsors for 7 children.  To date, I have found sponsors for 2 children .

Here are two different ways you can help!

Sponsor a child from a developing country:
Sponsor a HopeChild* living in an HIV/AIDS - affected community:
