Hello! My name is Jody Mlynek, and I am the director of Logan's Friends, a Christ-centered ministry and resource for families with special needs children, and the churches who care for them.
My family and I first learned about World Vision several years ago, and about two years ago we sponsored our first child, a little girl from Thailand. We fell in love with her immediately and she became as much a part of our family as our own two children. Since then, we have sponsored four more children - one from Ethiopia, one from Tanzania, one from the Philippines, and one from Peru. They are so precious and it is truly a miracle to see how the small amount of money we send them every month is making such a huge difference in their lives and the lives of their families. They are our special angels and we feel so privileged to be part of their lives.
But around the world, millions of children are still suffering. That's why I and my organization, Logan's Friends,have joined the Connect Your World campaign - to connect caring people with children in need, particularly children with special needs. For any child to live in poverty is tragic enough, but impoverished children with disabilities suffer even more because they have no access to the resources that can help them overcome their handicaps and lead happier, healthier lives.
I'm asking you to join us in doing something that's both easy and life-changing - sponsor one special child.
Every day, nearly 30,000 children die, most from things that child sponsorship can prevent. Imagine - YOU could be the difference between a life of hope and a life of despair.
I've partnered with World Vision because I know they're effective and trustworthy. Last year, 87% of their total revenue went to programs benefiting children, families, and communities in need.
